    Brief

Aarhus Universitet intends to enter into an agreement with Polarize ApS for the upgrade of a SpinAligner instrument to enable human dose preparation. The upgrade is crucial for an ongoing EU-funded research project aimed at translating this technology for clinical use, and Polarize ApS is the only supplier technically capable of performing the required upgrade due to the proprietary and highly specialized nature of the system. The delivery will take place in Østjylland.

    From the notice

    • Polarize manufactures the SpinAligner instrument currently owned and operated by the department. The proposed upgrade will provide the existing system with the capabilities required for human dose preparation. The SpinAligner supports an ongoing EU-funded research project at the department in which a central objective is to develop and translate this specific technology toward clinical use. The upgrade is therefore an integral part of the research: a prototype version of the SpinAligner capable of supporting human dose preparation is required to evaluate and establish its use in a clinical research setting. The SpinAligner is a highly specialized dissolution-DNP instrument, and Polarize is the only company able to upgrade the existing system. The proposed procurement is therefore required to upgrade an existing, department-owned research instrument into a prototype capable of supporting clinical research. Due to the proprietary and highly specialized nature of the system, Polarize is the only supplier technically capable of performing the required upgrade.
