Norsk Polarinstitutt has entered into an agreement with Owren AS for the delivery of track vehicles for use in Antarctica. These vehicles are required to operate in temperatures as low as -40 degrees Celsius, draw sleds with a capacity of up to 35 tons, and assist with snow clearing and airport preparation. The award criteria prioritized price, technical performance and functionality, operation, service and maintenance, and environmental sustainability. Two bids were received for this contract.
