    Högskolan Väst har ingått en avtal med Stirtec GmbH för leverans av friktionsomrörningssvetsutrustning. Utrustningen, som inkluderar svets- och bearbetningskapacitet, ombyggnad av befintliga verktyg med påfyllningspunktsvetsningskapacitet och online processövervakning-kontroll, ska levereras till Västra Götalands län. Avtalet har en varaktighet på 2 år och ett slutligt kontraktsvärde på 5 500 000 SEK. Fokus ligger på metaller som aluminiumlegeringar, koppar, titanlegeringar, stål och superlegeringar.
