    Brief

Turun Raitiotie Oy (Turku Tramway Ltd.) is launching a tramcar fleet procurement process for starting traffic on the first phase of the Turku tramway between the Harbour and Varissuo. Commercial passenger service is estimated to begin in the early 2030s. The tramway project comprises a 12-kilometre tramline, a track connection to the depot, and power supply stations. The project is currently in the final design stage before construction, during which the implementation plan for the railway project will be drawn up. Implementation planning is based on the general plan drawn up for the tramway. An English summary is available at https://www.turku.fi/en/tramway. The aim of the fleet procurement is to find the most economically advantageous fleet solution for the Turku tramway. The price and quality coefficients and quality criteria will be specified during the procurement process. Special emphasis is placed on economical life cycle costs, track record in passenger transport, alignment with the City of Turku's goals, maintainability and high availability. Due to the small scale of the Turku tramway, the management of fleet availability risks over the entire planned lifespan of the tramcars is essential. Turun Raitiotie Oy is inviting fleet suppliers to bilateral market dialogues. The market dialogues will be held in connection with the Berlin Innotrans exhibition on 24 to 26 September 2024 or via Teams. Please contact Turun Raitiotie Oy's rolling stock specialist Ville Sjöholm, ville.sjoholm@turunraitiotie.fi, to schedule your dialogue. This notice is an invitation to a market dialogue and is not binding on the Customer or participant. Object of procurement The object of the procurement is a bidirectional articulated low-floor tramcar, with the initial procurement comprising thirteen (13) tramcars. Quotations for fleet maintenance will also be requested for the maintenance of the tramcars. Key characteristics of the rolling stock: · Car length max. 37 m, provision for the potential extension of cars to max. 47 m during their life cycle · Car width 2.65 m · Passenger capacity 220–260 passengers · Gauge 1 435 mm · Minimum curve radius 25 m · Minimum vertical curve radius 300 m · Operating voltage 750 VDC The more detailed commercial and contract terms, as well as the technical, economical and other requirements for the tramcars to be procured and the related contract terms, will be defined and specified in the tender documents.
