Brief

The European Border and Coast Guard Agency (FRONTEX) has entered into an agreement with METEOMATICS AG for the delivery of meteorological and oceanographic information services to support Frontex operational activities. The services, which will enhance patrolling results, surveillance, resource allocation, and safety of missions, have a duration of 4 years and a total value of 1,100,000 EUR. Three bids were received for this contract.

  • The subject of this Contract is the purchase of meteorological and oceanographic information services in order to support Frontex operational activities. These services shall provide precise, robust, detailed, customized and frequently updated information on atmospheric and oceanographic conditions of designated areas and thus enhancing patrolling results and surveillance activities, efficient resource allocation, reduced stress on the crew members and increased safety of missions.

This involves collecting meteorological (Europe only) and hydrological in-situ observations in near real-time and for historic periods, quality controlling and post-processing the collected observations, managing and expanding data provider networks, and enhancing data collection. Offers will be evaluated based on quality (60%) and price (40%).
