Laboratorie-, optisk- og presisjonsutstyr
The European Commission, DG ESTAT - Eurostat, located in Luxembourg, needs to purchase two portable gamma ray imaging spectrometers for a total value of 300,000 EUR over an 8-month period. These devices are crucial for verifying nuclear fuel as part of Euratom inspection activities, requiring a gamma imaging system with a visual detector to identify residual or resident nuclear material. The systems must be portable, easy-to-use, and capable of displaying gamma-ray spectra, isotope-specific images, and real-time spectroscopy and imaging, with a wide energy range sensor (50 keV to 3 MeV or higher) and fine energy resolution. The award criterion is price, weighted at 100%.

To fulfil its responsibilities under Chapter VII of the EURATOM Treaty, the European Commission uses measurement equipment to verify nuclear fuel as part of its inspection activities. The imaging of gamma-ray is an established method for localization and mapping the distribution of the radioactive sources. Euratom inspectors require a gamma imaging system associated with a visual detector to promote the identification of residual or resident nuclear material in a wide range of environments. The system is meant to be portable and if possible hand-held. It is expected to be used during routine inspection operations with focus on ergonomics and sturdy design. In this context, DG ENER E1 needs to purchase two gamma imaging devices versatile enough to accommodate a wide range of measurements. They must be equipped with a wide energy range sensor and provide fine energy resolution. DG ENER E1 for Euratom is seeking two easy-to-use portable 3D-position-sensitive gamma imaging systems including associated readout electronics, and an embedded computer displaying: - A gamma-ray spectrum and isotope-specific images of the gamma-ray distribution in all directions - A wide range energy imaging system (from 50 keV (or lower) to 3 MeV (or higher)) - A real time spectroscopy and imaging system - Identification and visual localization of gamma sources The offer shall be presented in accordance with the following technical specifications and shall include all the administrative and technical requirements described in this document. The tenderer is requested to provide details of the manufacturer, type and technical properties of the brands on offer. The offered equipment must fulfil the minimum technical requirements, otherwise the tender will not be taken into consideration, but will be declared non-admissible.
