Brief

The Institute of Science and Technology Austria has entered into an agreement with Xenocs SAS for the delivery of diffactographs, specifically an upgrade of a small angle X-ray scattering (SAXS) system with a Metal Jet source and a wide-angle detector. This upgrade will enable high-resolution small-angle measurements and simultaneous measurement of short- and long-range order. The delivery will take place in Wiener Umland/Nordteil, Austria, over a duration of 24 months, with a final contract value of 723,213 €. Only one bid was received for this contract.

From the notice

  • Upgrade of a small angle X-ray scattering (SAXS) with Metal Jet source and wide-angle detector - The first upgrade is installation of additional, stronger (higher flux) source in order to allow for high resolution small-angle measurements. The second upgrade is with additional wide-angle X-ray scattering (WAXS) detector in order to allow, in combination with current detector, for simultaneous measurement of short- and long-range order.

ADRESS 2.0 Resonant Inelastic X-Ray Scattering instrument

Paul Scherrer Institut (PSI) needs a new experimental ultra-high-vacuum Resonant Inelastic X-ray Scattering (RIXS) instrument, consisting of a RIXS spectrometer and a RIXS sample chamber, for the soft x-ray beamline ADRESS 2.0 of the Swiss Light Source 2.0 (SLS 2.0). The instrument should be delivered to Aargau, Switzerland. The RIXS spectrometer needs to be designed to allow the possibility of being lifted by air-pads and rotated around the RIXS sample chamber on a granite floor with a range of ≥130 degrees. The ADRESS 2.0 beamline covers an energy range from 250 eV to 1700 eV with variable polarization control. The award criteria are based on quality.
