    Brief

Københavns Universitet has entered into an agreement with Bluefors Oy for the delivery of a Bluefors XLD450sl dilution refrigerator to be used for state-of-the-art superconducting qubit characterization in Copenhagen. The system, which will include several wire trees with drive, readout, and flux lines, is required to maintain compatibility with the existing fleet of Bluefors refrigerators within NQCP and Quantum Foundry to ensure reproducible benchmarking and optimization of superconducting quantum processors. The acquisition is valued at a maximum of 10 million DKK.

    From the notice

    • A dilution refrigerator reaching sub-10mK to be used for state-of-the-art superconducting qubit characterization in the characterization team at NQCP. The systems will consist of several wire trees with drive, readout and flux lines. It should have a proven track record for such an experiment within the superconducting community. The system should allow for upgrades with additional lines. The acquisition of a Bluefors XLD450sl dilution refrigerator is necessary to maintain compatibility with the existing fleet of Bluefors refrigerators deployed within NQCP and Quantum Foundry. The scientific programme requires direct transfer as well as comparison of side-loading wiretrees and quantum processor assemblies between refrigerators to enable reproducible benchmarking and optimization of superconducting quantum processors across multiple facilities. Compatibility with existing wiretree infrastructure is a mandatory requirement and cannot be achieved without substantial redesign and interruption of ongoing research activities. Furthermore, maintaining a homogeneous refrigerator platform ensures identical measurement environments, including cryogenic architecture, pulse-tube configuration, thermalization scheme, and attenuation chain, which is essential for scientifically valid comparisons between quantum processor devices. Five Bluefors refrigerators are already integrated into the NQCP and Quantum Foundry ecosystem. The use of a common platform minimizes operational risk, reduces maintenance costs, leverages existing technical expertise, and ensures continuity of ongoing experimental programmes.

Delivery and installation of a ICP Reactive ion etcher for silicon dielctrics

Danmarks Tekniske Universitet - DTU needs an ICP Reactive ion etcher for silicon dielectrics, to be delivered and installed in the DTU Nanolab cleanroom in the Copenhagen area. The instrument must support the full spectrum of etching of silicon-based dielectrics, from sub 100 nm nanostructures to depths of several tens of microns, requiring exceptional process controllability and tunability for ultra-precise, low-rate etches (< 100 nm/min) and high etch rate deep etches (approaching 500 nm/min). It must accommodate all silicon dielectrics of the form SixNy, SixOx, and SixOyNz, and be compatible with mask materials including Si, Cr, e-beam resists, and UV/DUV photoresists with high mask selectivity. The instrument must be configured for 150 mm wafer processing, with an option for a complete kit for 200 mm wafer processing. DTU will also have the option to purchase one additional identical instrument. Award criteria are Functionality and performance (50%), Quality of submitted samples (30%), and Price (20%).
