    Brief

Fingrid Oyj needs protection and control systems for transmission grid substations for a 7-year contract. The procurement involves a type approval process to select a maximum of three suppliers for mandatory products such as RTU, HMI, bay control units, various protection relays (distance, line differential, transformer differential, busbar), 400 kV voltage and restoration functions, 400 kV automatic re-closing, and switches. Optional products include 110 kV distributed busbar protection, voltage regulators, and IEDs for measuring sub and inter-harmonic frequencies. The objective is to ensure system reliability and compliance with Fingrid’s standards starting in 2028. The competition has multiple phases, starting with an application for participation, followed by negotiations, and finally a binding tender. Quality will be scored as an award criterion.
