      Proposed Scope of Works The Summer Works project is required to upgrade the existing Home Economics Room all existing equipment and fittings and ancillary services and replacing them with new. The work will be confined to the footprint of the existing Home Economics room having a total area of 116m2. Causeway Comprehensive School is 45 years old and all fittings, services and equipment in the Home Economics Room have been in place since the school first opened with the occasional change of electrical appliances as required. The current condition of the unit and teachers’ station, electrical equipment and services are outdated and no longer fit for purpose. The plumbing and electrical systems are outdated with ongoing maintenance issues experienced in their operation. The Home Economics Room requires to be upgraded to be in compliance with the Department of Education Guidance Document and layout for a modern Home Economics room in a secondary school setting. Proposed Schedule Of Works Item Description 1 Preliminaries 2 Accommodation works 3 Decommission and isolate all electrical and mechanical services to the room with confirmation that it is safe for work to proceed. 4 Remove all existing equipment and built in units. Include for disposing all waste to a recycling and licensed disposal centre. 5 Remove existing contact floor covering, include for disposing to a licensed disposal centre. 6 Break out new door opening include for lintel in preparation for an additional exit door from the Home Economics Room 7 Supply a new certified 30sfd unit with vision panel, ironmongery closer, etc., to the new door opening. Include fitting and making good. 8 Replace existing non-compliant door unit and replace with new as above. 9 General electrical fit out with services to all workstations to include wall mounted ducting incorporating double sockets, cooker sockets and all necessary cables and controls to hot water vessel and ventilation system. Provide LED lighting system to electrical engineer’s specification in compliance with the Departments Technical Guidance Documentation. 10 Extend the school’s existing fire alarm system to service the Home Economic Room, providing all necessary heat detectors, emergency lighting, exit lighting and break glass units to both exit doors in compliance with the electrical engineer’s specification. 11 The general mechanical fit-out includes providing 12 Relocate cooker hoods on existing ventilation system to align with layout of new workstations 13 Works to current gas system and certification 14 Bond and hardwall all internal walls in preparation for painting 15 Provide new suspended ceiling with grid and tiles 16 Overlay existing floor screed with self-levelling compound in preparation for new marmoleum contact flooring. 17 Provide and lay marmoleum flooring to include coved skirtings welded to floor covering. 18 Painting and decoration to all walls. 19 Built-in Double Oven and cabinet 20 Microwave - Countertop 21 Freezer upright 600mm x600mm x 1600mm 22 Refrigerator 595mm x 600mm x 1850mm 23 Gas Cooker 600mm x 600mm x 900mm 24 Washing Machine 600mm x 600mm 25 Tumble Dryer 600mm x 600mm 26 Students High Stools 660mm high 27 Teachers Chair. 28 Student Project Tables 29 Hight Adjustable Moveable/Teaching Desk 30 High level wall storage 795mm x 729mm x 300mm 31 Corner worktop with base unit 32 Work-top with base unit 600 x 625 x 900 33 Work-top with base unit 1600 x 625 x 900 34 Work-top with base unit 2200 x 625 x 900 35 Teaching wall unit 6500mm long x 2.600mm high 36 600mm wide tall unit with opening 37 Height adjustable sink unit (manual) 38 Height adjustable electric hob 39 Single bowl stainless steel sink 40 Two bowl stainless steel sink 41 103mm internal wall insulation to external wall of Home Economics Room 42 Attic Insulation
