    VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland Ltd has entered into an agreement with Netzsch Gerätebau GmbH Tysklandfilial for the delivery of a complete STA-GC-MS system, including installation and user training, in Helsinki-Uusimaa. The contract has a duration of 36 months and a value of 286,000 €. The system comprises integrated and fully validated modules: a Simultaneous Thermal Analyzer (STA/TGA-DSC), a Heated Transfer System, a Valve-Based Gas Injector/Valve Box/CryoTrap, a Gas Chromatograph (GC), a Mass Spectrometer (MS), and Integrated Control and Analysis Software. Only one bid was received for this contract.

    About the bid

      The object of the tender process was the complete STA-GC-MS system that shall comprise the following integrated and fully validated modules, all supplied and commissioned by a single vendor: • Module 1 — Simultaneous Thermal Analyzer (STA/TGA-DSC) • Module 2 — Heated Transfer System (furnace adapter + transfer line) • Module 3 — Valve-Based Gas Injector / Valve Box / CryoTrap • Module 4 — Gas Chromatograph (GC) • Module 5 — Mass Spectrometer (MS) • Module 7 — Integrated Control and Analysis Software All modules are been physically and electronically integrated as a single analytical system. The measurement sequence, gas sampling timing, GC injection triggering, and MS acquisition must be controlled from a unified software environment without operator intervention between the thermal analysis and evolved gas analysis workflows. Installation and user training also had to be included. The object of the tender process was described in more detail in the invitation to tender documents.Main features of the procedureThe tender process is based on the open procedure applicable to contracts that exceed the EU procurement threshold.
