    De Europese Commissie, DG DIGIT - Digital Services, heeft een raamovereenkomst gesloten met ORANGE BUSINESS BELGIUM SA voor de levering van beheerde backbone-connectiviteitsdiensten voor TESTA-EIRIS. Deze diensten zullen een onderliggend TESTA-EIRIS-backbone mogelijk maken, een netwerk met hoge capaciteit en veerkracht dat de verschillende TESTA-EIRIS Points of Presence (PoP's) binnen de EU en daarbuiten met elkaar verbindt. De overeenkomst heeft een looptijd van 84 maanden en er waren 5 inschrijvingen.

    • Acquisition of mandatory and extended TESTA-EIRIS backbone managed connectivity services. These backbone connectivity services will enable TESTA-EIRIS underlay backbone, i.e. a high capacity, high resiliency, value added network that will interconnect the multiple TESTA-EIRIS points of presence (PoPs) across EU and beyond. The future TESTA-EIRIS customers, through their local connectivity, will connect to these backbone managed connectivity services, which will allow them to exchange and communicate among themselves.

This study should analyze potential gaps in capacity, resilience, and security of terrestrial links, considering developments in data centers and AI facilities, to identify infrastructure investment gaps and market failures, and recommend appropriate interventions, including the magnitude and instruments requiring EU funding under the European Competitiveness Fund (ECF).
